HEKS/EPER pursues the vision of a just world where the dignity of everyone is respected, peace reigns and the natural environment is conserved. In Switzerland, HEKS/EPER champions the rights and causes of refugees and socially disadvantaged people. With the onset of conflict in Ukraine following the Russian invasion on the 24 th of February 2022, 6.5 million Ukrainians (approximately 15% of the population) have been internally displaced while 8 million (approximately 18.5% of the population) have fled to neighboring countries. Major population centers are under siege with civilian infrastructure heavily damaged. Basic commodities are becoming scarce with critical services facing significant strain.

Field Operation Manager, East Ukraine, 100%
Your main responsibilities:
The role of the manager involves utilizing allocated resources (human, material, and financial) within their operational office to oversee the daily management of all dimensions of HEKS operations in the designated geographical area. This includes financial, administrative, logistical, and, most importantly, operational aspects.
On a day-to-day basis, this entails appropriately deploying resources through meticulous planning and execution, ensuring accurate transmission and understanding of instructions and information for operational conduct, and safeguarding the physical integrity and security of deployed assets and personnel.
Key responsibilities of the Field Ops Manager encompass:
- Developing operational and support planning, ensuring its logical and secure execution in line with operational directives.
- Equitably allocating means and resources provided for the operation.
- Effectively assigning tasks to various human and material resources involved in operation execution, fostering mutual collaboration.
To be successful you bring:
- Master degree in humanitarian project management or other relevant
- Minimum 3 years of experience from working as a Senior Manager in a humanitarian context
- Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts
- Excellent communication skills as well as strong writing and reporting skills
- Promote capacity building and are able to help your team members progress and gain autonomy
- Oral and written English is mandatory, written and oral communication in French and Russian is an added value
- Excellent management skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and team management
- Able to work under stress and in difficult contexts
- Able to interact with multiple partners –open-minded and skilled in Multicutural communication
