HEKS/EPER, Swiss Church Aid, supports projects to combat hunger, poverty and injustice in 32 countries on four continents. HEKS/EPER also provides emergency relief for victims of natural disasters and armed conflict worldwide. In Switzerland, HEKS/EPER champions the rights and the integration of refugees and socially disadvantaged people.
In Lebanon HEKS/EPER has been supporting humanitarian projects for Syrian refugees since 2013. HEKS/EPER is seeking to increase its project portfolio in Lebanon, especially in the field of livelihood and increased employability of refugees in Lebanon. Therefore HEKS/EPER is looking for an experienced and proactive Country Delegate who will further develop the country strategy, drive the development of new humanitarian projects in Lebanon and liaise with all relevant stakeholders (NGOs, clusters, donors and local authorities.
DELEGATE LEBANON (100%)
The mandate:
- Liaison and networking with donors, UN organizations and local authorities
- Identification, development and supervision of new projects
- Identification of new project partners and consortia
- Development of funding proposals for various donors
- Representation of HEKS/EPER in relevant humanitarian clusters and working groups in Lebanon
- Continuous situation analysis on the situation in Lebanon in relation to the Syria conflict
Qualifications:
- University degree in a relevant field
- Minimum 8 years experience in the humanitarian sector and a minimum of 5 years in a senior field management position in an INGO, preferably in the region.
- Aproven track record of acquisition of funding with large donors such as USAID, ECHO, EU, MADAD, DFID.
- Thorough knowledge of the humanitarian sector and relevant standards
- Sound knowledge of proposal writing, budget management, monitoring and evaluation
- Proven ability to work in intercultural teams and lead large multidisciplinary and technical teams
- Excellent representation and networking skills.
- Ability to work in insecure settings and under pressure.
- Flexibility to travel on short notice both within and outside Lebanon.
- Ability to work both independently and with teams, excellent facilitation skills, sensitivity for gender & social equity and local culture.
- Language skills: excellent written and oral proficiency in English, Arabic is an asset
